Legendary strain Chemdawg has a murky genetic background. Many claim to have created this strain, while it is believed to have originated from U.S. breeders who crossed Thai and Nepalese sativa landraces. One of the origin myths for Chemdawg describes a convoluted seed exchange between other growers at a Grateful Dead concert. Another origin story attributes the strain’s ancestry to a Colorado strain known as Dog Bud (so named for its tendency to make the smoker roll over like a dog).
